The Accounting team has an opening for an Accounting Clerk III in the Store Reporting department. This position is located in the National Services Center in Phoenix, AZ.

The Accounting Clerk III position is responsible for calculating and booking the physical inventory reconciliations for non-perishable and pharmacy sections. Additional responsibilities include the review and analysis of a division gross profit report at the end of each accounting period and responding to store inquiries regarding charges and credits on their weekly reports.

* High school diploma
* Two or more years college with accounting course work or equivalent experience
* Three or more years' experience in a larger organization with mainframe based accounting
* Store Level Experience Preferred
* Knowledge of the Retail Method of Accounting and Gross Profit Calcuation
* Working knowledge of account reconciliations
* Intermediate level PC skills with knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
* Self-motivated and ability to make logical, rational decisions independently
* Consistent record of going above and beyond expected duties
* Proven record of positive interactions with co-workers
* Ability to train new associates within the department
* Ability to complete work with minimum supervision under rigid time constraints

* Calculate and book inventory over/short reconciliations for physical inventories in non-perishable and pharmacy departments
* Analyze financial reports and make recommendations relative to observations
* Process ending inventory adjustments for perishable departments at the end of each four-week accounting period
* Prepare Excel templates for journal entry to the general ledger
* Research and respond to store inquiries concerning inventory related charges and credits. Communicate inventory results to division and store management
